I worked at Swansea City Football Club for over 7 years. The last position I held was Assistant Director of Youth Football. I was sadly then made redundant. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Swans.
I worked on the
Football in the Community programme, where I coached both boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 14.
In my time in the Community department, I personally identified
both Shaun MacDonald and Chris Jones, who are both very highly rated and are now currently part of Swansea City's first team squad and both are
Welsh Internationals.
I also worked in The Centre Of Excellence under the guidance of Malcolm Elias where I coached boys between the ages of 8 and 16.
I have experience at coaching girls, as I use to coach an Under 12's girls team.
I was a coach at Pontardawe with their Mc Whirter youth team.
I will help youngsters to develop Co-ordination, Explosive Power, Agility and Speed.
Fast Arm Action, Reaction Time, Acceleration, Visual Awareness, Control and Strength, so that they can get more out of sport.
I will also help soccer players to develop better all round Technical, Tactical, Mental and Physical Abilities.
It is very important to me to educate players the importance of a well balanced diet and fluid intake and this will be done through my
Eat Like A Champion Programme

To Whom It May Concern:
RE : Stephen Rees
I have known Steve - affectionately known as Reeco - on a professional basis for 6 years since the day I employed him as a coach at the Swansea City Centre of Excellence.
In this capacity he proved to be the best coach and educator of young players I have worked with in my 18 years full time involvement in professional football with Oxford United, Swansea City and currently at Southampton Football Club.
Steve demands high standards of himself and sets a terrific example to the youngsters. His discipline is firm but sympathetic and he has the great asset of being able to form a rapport with young players due largely to his personality and approachable nature.
As well as working with elite players, Steve has also made an effective contribution to work in the community in the Swansea area with youngsters of all abilities. On the administrative side of football Steve also has vast experience from a full - time position he held at the Vetch when once he again he proved his thorough, organised yet versatile and conscientious nature.
I strongly endorse Steve to you as a person and a coach in his coaching venture. If you wish to discuss anything relating to the enclosed please call me on ***** ******.
Yours Sincerely
Malcolm Elias ( Now Head Of Recruitment at Liverpool FC )
